Key to a Man

This was the final piece I did for my metalsmithing course. The project was to make a piece of functioning tableware using the skills we had been taught (raising, forging, monoshells etc) So i opted to make silverware. I also opted to spend obscene amounts of money on a sheet of 6inx6in 8ga silver sheet to work with, and i couldnt have been happier.
these pieces have the weight and feel of big old skeleton keys, which is what I wanted to accomplish. They are a tactile achievement worth mentioning. I have a bit of work still on the fork, but its just a matter of making it a bit more polished.

by far, one of my favorite pieces. I have some individual shots I may post at some point.
